5 Easy Ways to Add Boho Chic Accents to your Home Decor

Have fun.  Feel Good.  Be Happy.

Boho Chic, or Bohemian Home Decor is resurfacing in 2015 (and probably beyond) so if this retro-hippie vibe really speaks to you, like it does to me, keep reading!

Here are 5 quick, easy ways to add a "boho chic" vibe to your home decor, whether you live in a tiny studio apartment (like I do) or a large home.

1. Love Patterns? Don't be afraid to use them- you can add and even use colorfully patterned fabrics in your home decor, from rug patterns to bedding, to lighting. Patterns and vibrant colors. Lots of them!

I love the way these turkish mosaic style lanterns tie in the patterns in the pillows and rug... There's so many ways to use them in your home.

2. Mix and Match Everything - from dinnerware, to dishes, and within color schemes from one room to the next. Have a Turkish themed kitchen and have an Indian themed reading nook. Use Spanish tiles in your stairway that lead to your colorful outdoor patio space. Or simply add tiny pops of color to one room, like your bathroom and sprinkle it throughout...

My colorful ceramic dishes and bowls are great for adding a pop of color to any room including your bathroom. And add some crystals in a dish or two to uplift the energy of your space.

3. Add a plant or ten. :) Sprinkle in a little Mother Earth- whether its adding hanging plants in every room or having one or two small herbal plants of basil or oregano in the kitchen. You can even put together a makeshift garden on your patio. Being surrounded by plants can increase oxygen levels, help you feel grounded and connected to mother nature and they actually purify the air by removing toxins especially when living in smaller dense spaces like a studio apartment.

4. Mix Old and New. Don't be afraid to use quirky and handmade things like the quilt from Great Grandma Sally paired with colorful pillows from Anthropologie. I love this cool Victorian Rocking Chair. I'm not sure that its from the victorian era but if I saw something like this in a thrift shop, I'd swipe it in a minute!

Make sure and use colorful throws and blankets like these to add warmth to your furniture...

5. Heat things up. Using warm tones throughout your home can help your environment feel warm and inviting. Besides using warmly toned (red, yellow and orange) blankets in your reading nook, if you have an actual fireplace, use it!  No fireplace? Add a candle to a room or ten. Even just sprinkling warm yellow, gold, red and orange colored art throughout certain rooms can really heat things up.

I love the way this gold heart adds color and warmth to any room...

Spruce up your fireplace...

Or even just add colorful candles...
